United States Olympic Committee
UNITED STATES OLYMPIANS ASSOCIATION

Speaker/Mailing Request Guidelines

The United States Olympic Committee’s Olympians Association prides itself on creating and implementing programs that will integrate Olympians and alumni into every facet of the Olympic Movement.  In support of the USOC, U.S. Olympians will foster the Olympic spirit in each community, motivate and encourage youth, develop camaraderie and honor all those who have shared the unique experience of representing their nation at the Olympic Games.

The U. S. Olympians Association program’s main objective is to continually increase Olympians’ participation in all U.S. Olympic events and activities. In the process of getting as many Olympians involved, the office is often asked to share historical information, addresses, and phone numbers with those individuals requesting Olympian participation. Due to the overwhelming requests from these organizations, the office has set up strict policies that must be adhered to in this effort.  The issue regarding the Right to Privacy Act is absolutely critical in this effort. The following steps must be adhered to in every single request of athlete information/participation.

Detailed report of speaker/appearance request must include the following:

• Name/Organization
• Contact Person, Phone, Event Name, Date, Location
• Purpose of Request/Message, i.e., commitment, team building, Games experience.
• Number of People in Attendance
• Age Group
• Number of Olympians/Speakers Requested/Time Commitment
• Honorarium-minimum fee, per day/per athlete $250.00 plus expenses
• Any follow-up survey should be shared with Olympian/U. S. Olympians Association office
• In case of cancellation within 7 days prior to the event, the negotiated fee will be assessed
• Detailed report must state that you agree to the terms of the Request Guidelines
• Additional Details

This information must be sent to the U. S. Olympians Association Office at least 30 days prior to the actual event. We will insist on strict adherence to this policy. In the event that you will require a mailing, and your request has been approved, all material must be prepared ready for mailing with postage, return address and any additional material placed inside the envelope to be mailed. A complete list of Olympians’ names will be shared with the individual sending out the mailing.

The U. S. Olympians Association Office appreciates your support in this effort. If you have any questions or comments please contact our office, and we will gladly assist you!
