Rodgers Takes Two Bronze Medals at Wheelchair Fencing World Cup

Scott Rodgers (San Diego, Calif.) won bronze medals in the men's Category B Epee and Foil at the 2007 Wheelchair Fencing World Cup and European Championships, July 12-18 in Warsaw, Poland.

Rodgers was defeated by Andriy Komar of the Ukraine, the eventual gold medalist, in the semifinals of the Epee event and fell to Hong Kong's Charn Hung Hui in the Foil semis.

The U.S. Men's Epee Team of Rodgers, Curtis Lovejoy (Atlanta, Ga.) and Benji Williams were responsible for the other U.S. top-10 finish at the World Cup, taking fifth place.

Andrea DeMello turned in the best U.S. women's finish at the event, taking 11th place in the Category B Epee and 14th in the Foil.
