World’s Best Women’s Goalball Teams Face Off at Lakeshore Foundation International Goalball Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The world’s top four women’s goalball teams will be converging on Lakeshore Foundation, an official U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Site, in two weeks time for the inaugural International Goalball Classic (IGC). The tournament runs July 26-29, 2007 and will feature the national teams from the United States, China, Canada and Denmark.

All games will be broadcast live on the Audio Network via the Internet.  This IGC dedicated site will also include up-to-date scoring and statistics for all games. You can visit the site at http://sports.pressakey.net/goalball/, where the competition schedule, an e-mail forum, goalball video and the first of two tournament preview shows have been posted.

The Lakeshore Foundation International Goalball Classic is the only international competition available for women’s goalball teams this year. Written recaps of each day’s action will be posted at http://www.lakeshore.org/.
