Four Powerlifting Athletes Nominated to U.S. Parapan American Team
Penn State University student Rohan Murphy will be one of the four powerlifting athletes representing the U.S. at the Parapan American Games in Rio.


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, announced today the four powerlifting athletes that have been nominated to the U.S. Parapan American Team that will compete at the Parapan American Games, Aug. 12-19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Two-time Paralympian Mary Stack (Ann Arbor, Mich.) leads the roster, which mirrors the group that represented the U.S. at the 2006 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting World Championships in Busan, Korea.

Anderson Wise (Needham, Mass.) had the best finish of the four U.S. lifters at the event, finishing sixth in the men's 67.5 kg division with a lift of 167.5 kg.
