U.S. Sailors Take Top Finishes in Two of Three Paralympic Classes at 2007 Disabled/Open Midwinter Regatta

Karen Mitchell and J.P. Creignou won the SKUD-18 competition at the 2007 Disabled/Open Midwinter Regatta in St. Petersburg.

U.S. sailors won events in two of three Paralympic classes and took five of nine podium spots at the 2007 Disabled/Open Midwinter Regatta, March 22-25 at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The SKUD-18 class (two-person boats) saw a U.S. sweep, led by the team of Karen Mitchell and J.P. Creignou, and American crews took the top two spots in the sonar class (three-person boats), as well, in the events tightest race. The Rochester, N.Y., team of Keith Burhans, David Schroeder and John Pucillo edged out the Cape Coral, Fla., crew of Paul Callahan, Tom Brown and Roger Cleworth for the win.
