Para-Equestrian Training Clinic to be Held in Dallas This Weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A Para-equestrian dressage training clinic will be held Feb. 2-4 in Flower Mound, Texas, at the Victory Farm. The clinic is being funded by the U.S. Olympic Committee's Paralympic Division in an effort to attract more developing Para-equestrian riders to the sport. Instruction will be provided by Renee Albrecq, who was the assistant Para-equestrian coach at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens and is the coach of 2004 Paralympic silver medalist Lynn Seidemann, who will be attending the clinic. Many new riders and auditors will also be in attendance.

Albrecq will focus on freestyle and sports psychology training.

Other 2007 Para-equestrian training clinics funded by the USOC Paralympic Division and are being scheduled at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., the United States Equestrian Federation High Performance facility in Gladstone, N.J., and at Yara-Yara Ranch in Pleasanton, California.  Dates for the clinics will be announced as they are scheduled.
