2006 U.S. Paralympics Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team Defeated by Canada in IWBF Gold Cup Final

AMSTERDAM - The U.S. Paralympics Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team was unable to withstand a powerful Canadian attack and lost, 59-41, in the championship game of the IWBF Gold Cup Saturday.

Jeremy Lade (Oconto, Wis.) led the U.S. with 10 points and Matt Scott (Southfield, Mich.) added nine points and eight rebounds.

The Canadians were led by Patrick Anderson, who flirted with a triple-double, ending with 25 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Richard Peter added 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Joey Johnson added 11 points and nine boards for Canada, who went two-for-two against the U.S. in the men's and women's finals.
