2006 U.S. Paralympics Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team Falls To Canada in IWBF Gold Cup Final

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-- The U.S. Women's Team fell to Canada in the Championship Game of the World Championships tonight in Amsterdam.

The U.S. started slow and could never catch up to the Canadians, who won their fourth consecutive Gold Cup. Christina Ripp (Dane, Wis.) led the U.S. with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

The Canadians led by four at halftime but scored five consecutive points to start the third quarter to extend the lead to nine. They never looked back from that point.
