USA Women’s Goalball National Team Captures Third Place at Malmo Intercup
Jennifer Armbruster was the tournament's leading scorer with 14 goals.

Although they had the best overall record, scored the most goals and gave up the fewest, the USA Women’s National Goalball Team, sponsored by the National Industries for the Blind, finished third in a unique double pool format at the Malmo Intercup, May 26-28 in Malmo, Sweden.  After finishing pool play undefeated, including two ties with the 2004 Paralympic gold medalists from Canada, the only loss suffered by Team USA was a hard fought 3-2 match against Finland.

Jen Armbruster (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was the overall leading tournament scorer with 14 goals.  Teammate Asya Miller (Battle Creek, Mich.) was also in double figures with 10 goals.  Seven of the teams competing in Malmo will participate at the 2006 IBSA World Goalball Championships June 24 - July 2 in Spartanburg, S.C.
