United States Win Fourth Invacare World Team Cup Quad Title

BRASILIA, Brazil - The United States became the first four-time winners of the Invacare World Team Cup Quad title on Friday in Brasilia when they beat Italy, 2-0, in the first of the finals to be settled at the 2006 edition of the ITF's annual flagship wheelchair tennis event.

Nick Taylor (Wichita, Kan.) gave the United States the perfect start to the Quad final against first-time Invacare World Team Cup finalists and second seeds Italy as he eased past Antonio Raffaele 6-1, 6-2. World No 1 Quad David Wagner (Oro Valley, Ariz.) completed an utterly dominant performance from the top seeds as he overpowered Giuseppe Polidori (ITA), 6-1, 6-0, in the second singles rubber to give the United States its fourth Quad title since winning the very first Invacare World Team Cup Quad event in 1998.
