CSOTC Aquatics Center//Aquatics Specialist (Part Time, Temp)
Is responsible for the life and well being of the users of the CSOTC Aquatics Center as a certified Red Cross Lifeguard. Responsible for maintaining lifeguard stations, perform maintenance and custodial tasks as necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. Assist with facility and equipment set-ups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Adhere to USOC Game Plan, Core Values, and Goals. 2. Actively maintain lifeguard stations. 3. Take every precaution to avert potential accident situations by eliminating hazards and hazardous behavior. Monitor activity areas to ensure proper use of the facility and equipment. 4. Ensure proper medical aid and coverage is available if/when necessary. 5. Assure a high level of sanitation and safety is maintained in all areas of the aquatics center environment. Monitor locker room and pool deck sanitation and ensure that standards are met. 6. Assist with the oversight of facility activities and assure facility use is in compliance with established policies. Enforce all aquatics center policies, rules, and operating procedures. 7. Educate users about facility safety. Become knowledgeable of all aspects regarding the Aquatics Center. 8. Assist with the safe and timely set-up or tear down of aquatic equipment, technical equipment, and storage and maintenance. 9. Assist in all facility set-ups for training requirements and needs. 10. Assist in the maintenance and care of all Aquatics Center equipment. 11. Be willing to learn and demonstrate a working knowledge after six months of pool operations and audio/visual components. 12. Exhibit friendly customer service to all users. 13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Center Assistant Manager.

CONDITIONS:
• Sport facility environment • Prolonged exposure to warm, humid environment • Prolonged standing/walking/sitting • Non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer • Minimum of three years lifeguarding experience • Experience with technical and mechanical requirements of aquatics facility operation to include timing systems, sound systems, and various training aids • Excellent verbal communication skills • Ability to interact effectively with users and staff at all levels • Ability to work with sport leadership
