Lowell Bailey
- In his last season as a junior, he earned bronze at the 2001European Biathlon Championships in the sprint and pursuit
- Won the 2001 Europa Cup in Switzerland
- 10K champion at 2005 TD Banknorth Festival at Fort Kent
- Placed 15th in the sprint and 11th in the pursuit at the 2001 World Junior Championships
- In order to make the Junior National team, he had to quite one of his two high school sports soccer and continued to play tennis
- He tried to do both biathlon and collegiate skiing in 2003. It worked as he placed second in the NCAA 10K and also qualified for the Biathlon World Championships
- After 2003, he took two years off and finished his college career from the University of Vermont
- Earned a degree in political science and environmental studies
- During his two years off from biathlons, he concentrated on collegiate skiing
- Grew up and trained with Tim Burke
- Hobbies include guitar and mandolin
One of my main focuses is to become a savvier racer. I want to be able to across the finish line whether it was a good or bad race, and be able to say I had a good race because I did these things well, or it was bad because I made these mistakes and need to work on them.
