It's Every Day

Caverly became the fifth woman swimmer associated with Stanford to make the Olympic team in 2004, along with sisters Dana and Tara Kirk, who qualified in the 200m fly and 100m breast, Caroline Bruce, who made it in the 200m breast and former Stanford star Jenny Thompson, who qualified in the 100m fly and 400m medley relay. Caverly made the team after recovering from a herniated disk in her back which had forced her to take a quarter off from school and go many days without training at all.

“I guess a lot of people had written me off, but you can’t listen to that,” Caverly told the Palo Alto Online News. “Nobody was expecting me to make the team, so there was no pressure on me. That was pretty nice.”
