- 2004 Olympian, finished 10th in the 200m backstroke
- 2001 World University Games champion in the 200m backstroke
- Helped Auburn University to two NCAA team championships
- Finished third in the 200m backstroke, fifth in the 100m backstroke at the 2005 World Championship Trials
- Took fourth place in 200m back at 2002 FINA World Championships, just .02 of a second away from a medal
- Fourth in the 200m backstroke at the Mutual of Omaha 'Duel in the Pool' in 2003
- Sixth in the 200m backstroke at the Pan Pacific Championships in 2002
- Took third in the 200y backstroke at NCAAs in 2003, 2004
- Led off the second-place 200y medley relay and third-place 400y medley relay at the NCAA Championships in 2003
- Is a 10-time NCAA All-American
- Enjoys playing racquetball, football, soccer and ultimate Frisbee
Hunt started swimming at age six because of an asthma problem that greatly reduced his lung capacity. A doctor advised he start swimming, and today asthma doesn’t bother him anymore.
“The first games I remember watching were the ’92 Games in Barcelona,” says Hunt in a Q&A for Auburn’s website. “I was only 10 and didn’t really understand the significance but I knew that was where the best were and of course wanted to be there wearing the red, white and blue.”
