Keller, Kalyn
- 2004 Olympian, finished fourth in the 800m freestyle
- Won three U.S. National titles in three different individual events at the 2003 Summer Nationals adding to her previous National title in 2001
- Broke the American record in the 1500 freestyle (short course meters) at her first NCAA Championships in spring 2004
- Named 2004 Pac-10 Women's Swimming Newcomer of the Year
- Is also a champion open water swimmer, with two national titles in the 5 kilometer championships
- Competed in the 2002 Short Course World Championships, the 2001 Goodwill Games and the 1999 Pan-American Games
- Has a dog named Sushi and a cat named Cheetoh
- Attends University of Southern California
Not only did Kalyn qualify for the same event in the Olympics as her brother, who made the 2000 team in the 400 free and 800 free relay, but she also attends the same school as him. Klete Keller won four NCAA titles for the USC-LA Trojans in 2001 and 2002. In fact the Kellers have a whole family of swimmers -- Kalyn's older sister Kelsey swam at the University of Washington and her mother swam at Arizona State.
Keller joked to an Active.com reporter that she "doesn't like to think too much" during hard workouts. "I kinda get into a groove and set it on cruise control," she said. "I gotta think of the next line to the songs I'm singing in my head!"
