Piotrowski, Kaido Accept Team Berth

PRINCETON, N.J. – The women’s double sculls tandem of Ala Piotrowski (Manchester, N.H.) and Jennifer Kaido (West Leyden, N.Y.) has accepted its berth on the 2007 National Team, USRowing announced on Tuesday. The duo will now compete at the 2007 FISA World Rowing Championships August 26-September 2 in Munich, Germany.

Piotrowski and Kaido earned the right to compete on the 2007 National Team in late April by winning the women’s double at USRowing’s National Selection Regatta II and meeting the minimum performance standard for the event. The duo had until July 17 to accept its spot on the team.

On June 3, Piotrowski and Kaido finished fourth in the event at the 2007 Rowing World Cup stop in Linz/Ottensheim, Austria. The duo is scheduled to race at both the 2007 USRowing National Championships next week in West Windsor, N.J., and the July world cup stop in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Currently, USRowing has named two boats to the 2007 National Team. The complete team will be selected by August 4.
